Embodiment Workshop
for MOTHERHOOD
Whether a child enters your life through cesarean or vaginal birth, foster care or adoption, the process of motherhood changes you forever. It can be hard to find the time or a safe space to process this physical, mental, and emotional transformation. That’s why I, Sophia Cardillo, mother, artist and doula created this healing experience with mothering bodies in mind!
In this workshop we will explore and process our relationships with our bodies through gentle, mindful movement along with personal reflection and guided group conversation. Although there will be moments that include stretching or meditation, this is not an exercise or yoga class. We will be using our bodies to tell our stories; exploring the narratives we currently carry in our bodies, and how these narratives may prevent us from being in a compassionate relationship with our bodies as they protect, sacrifice and nurture others.
A healing and somatic storytelling workshop
This experience will offer an opportunity to embody a new narrative about yourself that will support and ground you in this next chapter of your mothering journey. Our time will close with an invitation to say goodbye to old habits and scripts, and together process the mixture of excitement and feelings of loss that can arise on the cusp of a big transition. You will walk away with new physical vocabulary and exercises to help you continue to connect with yourself in your daily life. Your body will not physically change because of this workshop but your relationship with yourself (as a body) will change as you continue to restore the connection between your mental, emotional, and physical self.
